> Dénouement

Location: Solus Omega

In the unfathomable, arcane expanse of the cosmos, a realm where esoteric mysteries and celestial enigmas intertwine, there drifted Solus Omega, a stellar entity whose saga transcends the mere relativistic realms of space and time. This cosmic voyager, a beacon of the universe's hidden profundities, emerged in an epoch shrouded in the mists of antiquity, preceding even the storied birth of the Milky Way and Andromeda's galaxies. It was birthed in a time of cosmic alchemy, where sentient primordial forces wove the tapestry of creation for some inscrutable purpose.

The genesis of Solus Omega occurred within a galaxy now lost to the blackened tides of the cosmos, a crucible of celestial chemistry where stars blossomed like ethereal visions in the divine mind of the universe. It radiated with an incandescent splendor that outshone a thousand suns, a luminous oracle in the abyssal seas of space. Yet, its birthplace was marked for a cataclysm of celestial proportions. A deterministic destiny orchestrated by the fundamental force of gravity, its galaxy met an even more colossal, more volatile counterpart. This convergence, a fusion of creation and destruction, mirrored the apparent dualism of existence, spawning new clusters of stars while casting others into the depths of the void.

Ejected into the cosmic void, Solus Omega embarked on a solitary odyssey across the vast, interstellar wilderness. This journey transcended the physical, becoming a mystical pilgrimage through the evolving cosmos. As it traversed, the universe transformed; galaxies spun, clashed, merged, and pulled each other apart, and stars ignited and extinguished in the cosmic ether. The fabric of space-time stretched and crunched into the boundless dark.

Throughout the aeons, Solus Omega bore witness to events beyond the comprehension of common consciousnesses. It beheld the genesis of galaxies; resplendent and otherworldly, evidence to the universe's boundless creativity. It observed stars exhaling their final breaths, their dying embers illuminating the cosmic stage. In its journey, Solus Omega transcended its stellar form, becoming an archaic custodian of cosmic lore, navigating the void with the solemnity of an ancient sage.

Nestled between the burgeoning Milky Way and Andromeda, Solus Omega stood as an anachronistic relic, a vestige of a forgotten age. Slowly spiraling towards a fated union, these spiral galaxies were mere novices compared to the venerable voyager. Now a mere red giant, its once fiery heart nearing quiescence, Solus Omega had become an alchemical crucible, embodying the cosmic cycle of transformation that governs all celestial beings.

In its twilight, Solus Omega will graciously shed its outer mantle, leaving behind a dense core; a white dwarf. This celestial vestige, aglow with the subdued light of aeons, stands as a silent sentinel stories both told and untold. There, it will remain, a solitary beacon in the intergalactic void, an enduring emblem of lost epochs, a silent witness to the universe's eternal metamorphosis; a reminder that in the grand cosmic tale, all is temporary, yet nothing is truly erased.

And it is here, around the final resting place of Solus Omega, that our tale both ends and begins.

"At last," Hadrian thought to himself, his mental voice a ghost of a whisper, as if he were worried that something here might hear his thoughts. "This is what I risked my soul to see."

Hadrian could feel an omnipotent malevolence manifesting. Hadrian was no coward. But he also did not suffer the tragic flaw of arrogance. He could sense, that for now at least, he was out of his depth. He could not afford to be seen by whatever was coming. He was not likely able to overcome it. The entity was not yet present and Hadrian could already sense that its power was so great as to make whatever miracles Hadrian could achieve irrelevant. If he remained here in this inevitable future he would be destroyed, just like everyone else here was about to be. And then he, and his people would have no hope at all of eliminating this threat. And there was precious little hope to begin with. No, Hadrian was not a coward; more importantly, Hadrian was not a fool. So he left that space, and that time, returning to his own space-time, in his own body.

The only new thing that he learned about the enemy, is that not only could he not defeat it, but he could not risk such a thing becoming aware of his existence. It is best that the enemy continues to be blissfully unaware of Hadrian. And if it became aware of Hadrian at all, the next best thing was for the enemy to underestimate him.

"I need allies." Hadrian was speaking to himself, having forgot that the succubus had returned from the Second Sphere of Hell, reinvigorated and eager for another round.

"Do that two more times and I'll guarantee my sisters will come to your side." The succubus grinned through a set a pointy teeth that were somehow just as alluring as there were disturbing.

"Deal." Hadrian said in his signature whisper-like authority that would have made the Prince of Darkness hesitate.
